Deboorah Singer

Deborah grew up in a musical family in the suburbs of Los Angeles, and studied at the University of Southern California. In the mid-1970s, Deborah moved to Philadelphia to study, and from 1976-81, she played in the first violin section of the San Antonio Symphony. In 1981, Deborah accepted a position with the first violin section of the Oregon Symphony, where she has played ever since.

Deborah has performed with a number of music festivals around the U.S., including the Colorado Music Festival, Blossom Music Festival, New Hampshire Music Festival, and the Casals Festival. In Oregon, Deborah has appeared with the Ernest Bloch International Festival, Cascade Festival of Music, and the Britt Music Festival.

When she’s not playing music, Deborah volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the SMART (Start Making a Reader Today) Program in Portland.
